Producer's description
The Ayinger Brewery is located in the town of Aying in Bavaria. It was founded in 1878 by Johann Liebhard. From his father, Franz, he received a family-owned farm from 1810. Johann and Franz made a joint decision to open a brewery capable of satisfying the demand for a fresh frothy drink from residents of the Aying agrarian region. In 1877, Johann built a brewery building, a malt house and a fermentation plant. The first batch of Einger beer was poured into a glass on February 2, 1878, and several months later it was sold to several nearby taverns. Already in the early twentieth century, Johan Liebhard was one of the richest citizens, he invested large sums in the construction of the railway and the electrification of the city.
In 1904, after the wedding of the eldest daughter Maria with Augustus Ciechentmayr, Liebhard gave her the management of the family business. World War I strongly slowed down the development of the brewery, Augustus was drafted into the army and the supply of malt was limited by law. In the absence of the head of the brewery family, Ainger ruled Maria with her three daughters, Maria, Crescentia, and Annie. Augustus returned from the war in 1918, but the economic crisis that unleashed soon did not allow for the rapid recovery of former production volumes. In 1921, the old building of the brewery burned down, in its place two years later a new one was built. In 1932, the eldest daughter of Maria and Augusta, also Maria, married the owner of the tavern Franz Inselkammer. Three years later, their son Franz was born. The years preceding the Second World War limited the development of the Ayinger brewery, and it was forced to include non-alcoholic beverages in the assortment.
Since the city of Aying was practically not bombed, production was quickly restored after the war. In 1962, the young Franz Inzelkammer received a diploma in the field of brewing and entered the company's board. He restored the old restaurant of his great-grandfather, built a new bottling plant and purchased the Hollbrau brewery in Traunstein. Now the company Einger continues to be in the possession of the Inselkammer family. It employs about 70 people, produced 136 thousand hectoliters of beer annually.
