Auchentoshan whisky

Found 26
Auchentoshan is a single malt whisky produced at the base of the Kilpatrick hills in the Scottish Lowlands. The Auchentoshan distillery was built in 1800. In fact, Auchentoshan means "the field of the corner" in Gaelic. The distillery is located on the outskirts of Glasgow, this is why this whisky is usually known as "Glasgow's malt whisky". It is also called "the breakfast whisky" because of its sweet and delicate taste. After multiple changes in ownership, Auchentoshan distillery was acquired by Beam Inc. and Suntory Holdings Limited in 2014. Unlike other Scottish distilleries, Auchentoshan practices a triple distillation process using a third still, which gives a final strength to the spirit. This procedure, along with unpeated malt, adds the delicate and sweet flavor. Auchentoshan single malt has rich color, intense toffee and sherry oak flavors with spicy and fruity notes and a characteristic sweetness that adds complexity in every long lasting finish.
