Interesting Facts
The brand "Russian Jack" got its name in honor of Barret Chrimen, an employee who could always be found on Marlboro roads with a shoulder bag. And although he was from Latvia, many considered him Russian, where his nickname "Russian Jack" came from. Today, the bronze statue of "Russian Jack" is a landmark of the city of Masterton and serves as a reminder of those pioneers who worked tirelessly to clear land for planting vineyards that today produce world-class wines.

The Foley winery was opened by Bill Foley in the late 1990s in the Marlborough Valley in New Zealand. The success of the product is due to strict compliance with the rules of winemaking and two unique in its properties vineyards. To guarantee high quality of products, a micro-farming program was developed and implemented, a topographic map was compiled using aerial photography and soil composition was studied on all 200 hectares of vineyards. So, suitable sites were identified for the vines of two varieties - Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc.
In 2016, the Foley plant was in the earthquake zone and suffered significant damage, but thanks to the determination and diligence of the entire team, the losses were restored in 2017.
