Wine rich garnet color with purple shades.
Powerful and juicy taste of the wine reveals notes of black berries, hints of spices and herbs, nuances of earth and minerals. It has a refreshing acidity, velvety, complex tannins and a fascinating aftertaste.
The aromatic bouquet of the wine is complex, elegant, with hints of ripe cherry berries, nuances of vanilla, cardamom, tobacco, rosemary, cinnamon, vanilla and dried clay.
The wine will make an excellent pair of sliced hard and aged cheeses, red meat or game with aromatic spices.
Interesting Facts
Askaneli Brothers, "Dora" Saperavi Qvevri is a dry red wine, for the preparation of which the producer uses Saperavi grapes grown in the vineyards of Kakheti. Harvesting is carried out in mid-September. The grapes are harvested in the first half of the day, while the soil of the vineyards is dry and after only one hour, squeeze out the wort and place the resulting wort in kvevri (a clay jug without handles, resembling an amphora) along with the skin, bones and stems. The fermentation process takes about 30 days, followed by fermentation with squeeze. In the middle of March, the wort is separated from the cake and poured into new kvevri, which are sealed and buried in the ground until the end of May.
