Teacher’s is a traditional blend of Scotch whiskey. This recipe has remained unaltered throughout the years. William Teacher, following the newly formed Excise Act decided to sell his own whiskey. In the initial years, he sold it using his wife’s grocery shop as a platform in Glasgow. In 1856, with the help of his sons, he succeeded in receiving a license that allowed him to sell for consumption. This is when he decided to open a shop of his own. In 1879, he passed away, leaving behind his sons Adam and William Jr. to take charge of his business. They moved to St Enoch Square for the business’s better exposure and remained there till 1991. In 1898, Teacher’s opened up a single malt facility by the name of Ardmore which made sure that they received a steady and continuous supply of scotch which is an important ingredient for their Highland Cream Blend. In 1976, the limited company formed a partnership with Allied Distillers. Whiskey Teacher’s Highland Cream has a mild malt flavour which also consists of a light golden hue. It leaves a long lasting taste of smoke, peat and heather. Today, it is served in restaurants all over England and Scotland. It gives the perfect tinge of Scotland which a true Scot would recognize in an instant.
