Wohlmuth wine , "Klassic" Sauvignon Blanc is made from grapes grown on mineral-rich soil at an altitude of 650 meters above sea level, on hills with an average inclination of up to 90 °. Vineyards are influenced by the Illyrian climate, a very large temperature difference day and night leaves a noticeable imprint on the taste of the wine, filling them with a special complex fruitiness. The berries are carefully collected by hand, after which the grapes are sent to the winery, where maceration and fermentation of wine in steel vats take place at a strictly controlled temperature of 19-23 ° C.
"Classic" Sauvignon Blanc has a rich fruit taste with piquant acidity and a long, spicy aftertaste.
Wohlmuth Winery since 1803 belongs to the Wolmuth family, which devoted itself to the cultivation of vineyards. Gerhard Volmuth, the owner of the winery, a professional winemaker, successfully produces outstanding wines from year to year. He was awarded the "Austrian Winemaker of 2001" and won the "International Pinot Gris Trophy, 2007" at the International Wine Competition in London.
The Wohlmuth winery employs a lot of labor, because tillage and harvesting are done manually only to maximize the properties of the berries. The yield, depending on the variety, is 3200-4500 liters per hectare. Vineyards are located on steep slopes with shale solid soil and occupy 65 hectares.
The main goal of the company Vol'mut is the production of high-quality wine by combining family winemaking traditions and modern technologies. Today Wohlmuth wines are very popular not only in Austria, but also in other countries of the world.
