Reviews of purchase Wiegner, "Contrada Rampante" Etna Rosso DOC
The wine is an intense ruby red color.
The wine shows a soft, fruity taste with light astringency, rich notes of ripe red berries, spices and smooth tannins. A long, soft and elegant finish.
The soft aroma of the wine contains shades of fresh fruit, spices, notes of strawberries and cherries.
The wine will make a good pair with red meat and mature cheeses.
Dry red wine Wiegner, "Contrada Rampante" Etna Rosso DOC created from grapes Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio. Berries are grown organically on the volcanic soils of plots broken in 1965. Vineyards with east-west exposure are located at an altitude of 730 meters above sea level. Harvesting is done manually. Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation takes place in European oak barrels at a controlled temperature. Excerpt wine in oak barriques lasts 12 months, in bottles - at least a year.
The Puccetti Laura winery belongs to the Wigner family, consisting of a married couple, Peter and Laura, and their son, Marco. The family lives on the estate, located near Mount Etna in the wine region of Sicily. The volcanic soils of Etna are well suited for growing both indigenous and international grape varieties. The wines are fine, elegant, fresh, with a beautiful minerality and long storage potential. The family takes pride in producing its wines exclusively by the organic method. So the family respects the terroir and nature of Mount Etna, which in 2013 was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
