The outstanding taste of the wine is characterized by an impressive depth, density, refreshing acidity, notes of red fruits and a firm, rather rich finish with persistent, ripe tannins.
The aroma of wine tones of black raspberry, licorice, cherry and smoked oak are complemented by notes of spices.

"Origen" Pinot Noir Gran Reserva - a complex wine with its own character and personality, varietal purity of which is born due to its origin - the terroir of the coastal zone of the Maipo and San Antonio valleys. Grapes are grown in a temperate Mediterranean climate. Crop harvested by hand during the first week of April. Grapes undergo a rigorous selection by hand and on the vibration table. Cold maceration at 6 ºC lasts 14 days. Then selected tremors are added to the wort and fermentation is carried out in open tanks at 24–25 ºC. For malolactic fermentation, French oak barrels are used. Then the wine is aged 8 months in French oak barrels (80%) and steel vats.
Vina Chocalan is a family business. It was founded by Guillermo Toro, who was associated with the wine industry for more than 60 years. Being a very enthusiastic winemaker, Guillermo created a project for the production of wines, combining two of his strongest passions: grapes and wine. The name of the winery - "Chocalan" - translates as "yellow buds."
The first harvest of grapes was received in 2001, and the next year the construction of a wine cellar in the Melipilly area began. Today Viña Ciocalán is recognized as one of Chile's leading companies producing high-quality red and white wines.
