Dry red wine "Aves del Sur" Carmenere Reserva is made from grapes grown in the Maule Valley. Grapes are planted at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level. Due to extreme temperatures - hot days and cold nights - the grapes reach a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 10 months, and then a further 3 months in bottles.

Producer's description
Family winery Vina Carta Vieja was founded in 1825 by Carlos Alberto Pedrigalom, who came to Chile from Spanish Asturias. Attracted by the unique climate of the site "Lonkomilla" in the Maule Valley, where justified Pedrigal vineyards, which vines planted European varieties. Since then, eight generations of family Pedrigal engaged in growing grapes and producing wine. This winemakers adhere to established traditions, combining them with innovative modern technologies.
Today, Viña Vieja map is the flagship of Chilean wine thanks to the production of a wide variety of wines - from dining to high-quality vintage. However, many wines are made from grapes grown on old vines. The median age of these some 85 years.
