Reviews of purchase Vignerons de l'Enclave, "Les Coudriers", Cotes du Rhone AOC
Tasting Notes
The wine is ruby red in color with purple sparkles.
The taste of the wine is rich, powerful, bright, not devoid of harmony and elegance, with notes of cherries, cherries, plums, figs and cranberry jam. Light tannin astringency adds piquancy and bulk to it. The pleasantly refreshing acidity of the wine is balanced by its strong structure and creates a long-lasting aftertaste with a touch of licorice and warming pepper tones.
The intense aroma of the wine explodes with hints of ripe cherries, cranberries and red plums, framed by the nuances of spices, cocoa and wood.
Wine perfectly complements meat and game dishes, mature cheeses.

Wine perfectly complements meat and game dishes, mature cheeses.
The history of Vignerons de l'Enclave goes back over 700 years. According to legend, in 1317, after his election in Lyon, Pope John XXII, whose health was fragile, tasted wine from Valreas on his way to Avignon. The wine refreshed him well, and Pope John concluded that this wine was wonderful. In order to dispose of it at his own discretion, he bought the town of Valreas from the Dauphin du Viennoy, and then the neighboring villages of Richerenches, Visan and Grillon in the following years. Thus was born the Enclave! When French departments were created after the revolution, the inhabitants of Valreas, Visan, Richerenche and Grillon decided in a referendum to remain attached to the Vaucluse. Thus, they immortalized the Enclave that still exists today as part of the Vaucluse department in Drome. The four cities of the Enclave represent a unique set of geographic and geological characteristics: the northernmost vineyards of the southern Côte du Rhône are located here, with an above average elevation. The soils are mostly stony, clayey-calcareous. The climate is typically Provencal, influenced by the Mistral, with cool nights and very warm, sunny days. Bounded on 3 sides by the foothills of the southern Alps, this terroir opens to the west into the Rhone Valley. The Enclave is a truly unique microterroir, a distinct geographical entity with its own exceptional history. Vignerons de l'Enclave offers a wide range of wines that accurately reflect the terroir of the South Rhone. Since 2009, Vignerons de l'Enclave has been part of the Cellier des Dauphins.
