Wine "Venus", Montsant DO, 2010
Reviews of purchase "Venus", Montsant DO, 2010
The wine is dark purple-red color.
The taste of wine is clean, rigorous, in-depth, with a fruity, well balanced, notes of red berries and rounded tannins. The finish is juicy and sweet.
The enticing aroma of wine reveals notes of ripe plum, black currant, licorice and cola, subtle shades of damp earth, tar and spice.
The wine is recommended to be combined with traditional Mediterranean dishes, grilled red meats and mature cheeses.
Dry red wine blended "Venus", Montsant DO, created in 2010 from Carignano grapes, Syrah and Garnacha. Grapes are grown on old vines, planted on four areas located between Crossos and Pinyana. Grapes Syrah going from vineyards owned by the winery Venus la Universal. The plots are located on a hilly area, where the soil is clay and limestone. Soils are deep, with a good ability to retain and promptly remove moisture that contributes to the long slow ripening fruit. Each grape variety is collected separately, but - if the vintage allows - vinified the resulting material is in the form of a blended egg. Syrah and Carignano are separated from the ridges and Garnacha grapes are left in one piece, then gently crushed and sent to the alcoholic fermentation. Fermentation takes place in a natural way, not additional yeast is introduced. Fermentation and maceration in a 500-liter steel tank and open wooden vats takes 28 to 32 days. One part of dry red wine, "Venus" is aged in 4000 liter wooden barrels, and the other - in 300-liter barrels. Wine matures for 20 months. Wine "Venus", Montsant DO, 2010, we recommend the immediate use, but the 5-10 years will add soak drink elegance and refinement.
