In 1979, Torres acquired a small winery in Curicó, in Chile's Central Valley, and became the first foreign company to produce wines from Chilean grapes grown in a unique location at the foot of volcanoes in the Andes. The winery in Curico is equipped with the most modern equipment, allowing winemakers to carefully control the entire process. Torres was the first winery in Chile to use temperature controlled steel tanks for fermentation and aging in high quality French oak barrels.
