Wine Torres Reserva Real Penedes DO, 2013
Reviews of purchase Torres Reserva Real Penedes DO, 2013
The wine is dark cherry color with brick hues.
Taste powerful wine, rich and concentrated, with a well-structured sweet tannins, notes of plums, cocoa and leather. The finish is long and memorable.
Fragrant bouquet of wine intense, complex, with notes of black currant jam, hints of raspberry, roasted almonds, leather, smoke and spices - cloves and laurel.
Wine matches perfectly with meat dishes, roast and stew cooked in a Mediterranean style: with tomato and pepper sauce, with herbs and spices (thyme, oregano, rosemary, basil, bay leaf, pepper).
In 1995 was celebrated the 125th anniversary of the founding of the winery Torres. On this occasion, the winery visited His Majesty the King of Spain Juan Carlos I, who visited the vineyards and showed interest in all aspects of winemaking. Here, at high altitude, near the preserved to our time Romanesque chapel of the XI century, is a vineyard with old vines of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. On the rocky, slate soil produced a limited harvest for exceptional wines. In 1997, in memory of this day the company Torres decided to create a wine "Reserva Real", which is an expressive testimony to the prestige of the best red wines of the region and that Penedes with age, after eighteen months of aging in new French oak barrels from the forests of Nevers, it becomes even more refined .
