Reviews of purchase Tenuta di Fessina, "Laeneo" Nerello Cappuccio, Sicilia IGT, 2014
Wine red-ruby color with a pomegranate tinge.
The taste of wine is soft, refined tannin, with expressive acidity, harmonious fruit scale and a long, refined aftertaste.
The beautiful aroma of wine is dominated by the tones of red berries, the nuances of spices: pepper, cloves and cinnamon.
The wine goes well with red meat, game and mature cheeses.
Elegant young wine Tenuta di Fessina, "Laeneo" Nerello Cappuccio create from the same name Nerello Cappuccio, collected from vines, planted on the site of the economy in 1970. The soil of the vineyards is mainly sandy, with the impregnation of volcanic rocks. The berries are carefully picked, subjecting to careful selection. During the vinification process, the wort is subjected to spontaneous malolactic fermentation and subsequent fermentation in stainless steel tanks under thermal control conditions. As a result, the wine acquires a fresh, refined taste and expressive berry flavor.
In 2007, Sylvia Maestrelli and the oenologist, Federico Curtas, who worked for 20 years at Gaja, purchased vineyards in the Etna region. From this moment begins the story of Tenute di Fessina - a winemaking economy in Sicily, which supports the centuries-old traditions of winemaking that prevail in this region. On the territory of one of the vineyards after the acquisition, a symbolic echo of the past was found: an adaptation for pressing grapes dating from the 18th century. This finding strengthened the owners in their desire to glorify the region with quality wines and became a kind of "sign from above", blessing the development and the future success of the started business.
The heart of Tenuta di Fessina is at an altitude of 670 meters above sea level. The plots occupy an area of about 7 hectares, and the soil of the vineyards is rich in volcanic rocks, which provides the wines with the richness and complexity of the aroma, the elegant structure and the mineral taste. In addition to growing grapes and producing wine in the Tenute di Fessina, wine tourism is practiced. Wine connoisseurs and travelers have an excellent opportunity not only to taste the best wines of the farm, but also to enjoy a stay in the picturesque area of Sicily, to see with their own eyes the majestic volcano of Etna and enjoy the silence in the ancient estate alone with nature.
