Wine Tenuta di Fessina, "Ero" Sicilia IGT, 2013
Reviews of purchase Tenuta di Fessina, "Ero" Sicilia IGT, 2013
The wine is intense purplish red.
The wine shows a rich, juicy, fresh taste with a harmonious fruit sour, well-integrated tannin and a long, persistent aftertaste.
The aroma of wine is full of accents of ripe fruits and berries: cherries, blueberries, currants and delicate hints of spices.
A great addition to this wine will be dishes of red meat, pâtés, fried fish, and mature cheeses.
Red dry wine Tenuta di Fessina, "Ero" Sicilia IGT can certainly be called seductive. And not only its name hints at sensuality and special charm. Balanced, refined and fresh taste beckons with refined acidity and perseverance. And even on the label of wine symbolically depicted a snake-tempter, hiding, as a secret laid down by the creators in this wine.
Monosort "Ero" is created from the "symbol" of Sicilian viticulture - the variety Nero d'Avola. The hand-picked berries are soft pressed and fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel vats. Vinification involves maceration for 48-72 hours and spontaneous apple-milk fermentation in steel tanks.
In 2007, Sylvia Maestrelli and the oenologist, Federico Curtas, who worked for 20 years at Gaja, purchased vineyards in the Etna region. From this moment begins the story of Tenute di Fessina - a winemaking economy in Sicily, which supports the centuries-old traditions of winemaking that prevail in this region. On the territory of one of the vineyards after the acquisition, a symbolic echo of the past was found: an adaptation for pressing grapes dating from the 18th century. This finding strengthened the owners in their desire to glorify the region with quality wines and became a kind of "sign from above", blessing the development and the future success of the started business.
The heart of Tenuta di Fessina is at an altitude of 670 meters above sea level. The plots occupy an area of about 7 hectares, and the soil of the vineyards is rich in volcanic rocks, which provides the wines with the richness and complexity of the aroma, the elegant structure and the mineral taste. In addition to growing grapes and producing wine in the Tenute di Fessina, wine tourism is practiced. Wine connoisseurs and travelers have an excellent opportunity not only to taste the best wines of the farm, but also to enjoy a stay in the picturesque area of Sicily, to see with their own eyes the majestic volcano of Etna and enjoy the silence in the ancient estate alone with nature.
