Reviews of purchase Simonsig, Frans Malan, 2005
Wine of deep ruby red color.
Velvety, harmonious taste wine reveals nuances of cherry and black currant, rounded shades of creamy chocolate and oriental spices, sweet tannins.
The explosive aroma of the wine shows sweet plum tones interwoven with hints of black fruit - mulberry and blackberry, new leather and elegant hints of violets.
Wine combined perfectly with mature fragrant cheeses, duck, steak, lamb and grilled meat.
Wine maintained for 14 months in barrels of French (42%) and American (58%) of white oak. Wine reaches its peak in 5-8 years after bottling.
Wine "Frans Malan 2005" won the gold medal at the "Veritas 2007" and "Veritas 2008", a gold medal and the title of "Best in Category" in the "International Wine and Spirit Competition 2008" Diamond Award for "Winemakers Choice Awards 2008".
