The wine is an attractive light orange color.
The wine shows an intense, generous, balanced taste with an excellent concentration of fruit undertones, among which the nuances of pineapple, apricot and peach are especially prominent. In the long finish there are delicate notes of roasted hazelnut.
The aroma of wine is dominated by bright notes of white fruits, which are surrounded by hints of citrus fruits, flowers and herbs. A little later, there are nuances of nuts, orange blossom and cedar.
Wine is an excellent aperitif. It also goes well with seafood (shellfish and crustaceans), fish, salads, pasta, white meat.
Amazing balance and power of wine "Schmelzer's" Schlicht und Ergreifend Orange Cuvee allow it to be combined with a wide range of dishes. Grapes from the Grüner Veltliner, Weissburgunder and Scheurebe grapes are harvested in organic vineyards. At the winery, the fruits undergo comb separation and are subjected to vinification. Maceration on the skin helps the future wine achieve an amazing orange color. Spontaneous fermentation is carried out using natural yeast. Wine is aged in small oak barrels for 18 months, after which it is bottled without filtering.
The Georg Schmelzer winery has been owned by the Schmelzer family for over 100 years. Today, the company is led by Georg Schmelzer and his wife Elizabeth. Organic vineyards, covering an area of about 14 hectares, are located in a picturesque area around Lake Neusiedler in Burgenland. All work at the winery is carried out in accordance with the principles of biodynamic agriculture. The focus is on a holistic view of agriculture and respect for nature. The goal of biodynamic viticulture is to revive the soil and maintain its constant fertility. Since 2007, the winery has been the owner of the international certificate "Demeter".
