"Sauza" is considered to be one of the oldest tequila companies in Mexico, and according to the popularity of "young" varieties, it has no equal on the Mexican expanses. The company was established in 1873 by Don Kenobio South. Its main production facilities are located in the state of Jalisco. It is the products from "Sauza" that became the first tequila in the history of Mexico, exported to the USA. The son of the company's founder, Don Eladio, at one time took over the management of the company, significantly expanding it and opening branches in Mexico City and Monterrey. The company "Sauza" was passed from fathers to children for 6 generations, developing and improving.
In 1988, the Sauza plant was bought by Pedro Domecq, one of the leading Spanish manufacturers. And in July 2005, the brand was acquired by Fortune Brands. But, despite such changes, tequila from "Sauza" still remains the high-quality, popular product that 130 years ago.
