Has an amazing, very rich dark garnet color.
Smoky taste of wine, with hints of pepper, ripe fruit, minerals, with strong tannins and a long finish.
In the dense sensual fragrance notes of smoke, ripe black fruit, cassis, minerals.

Chapoutier sees its goal to bring to the fore in the wines characteristics of the soil and vines, which is why most of them are made from only one grape variety. Syrah for this wine collected from old vines Saint-Joseph, growing on granite soils, very poor and very stony, and bearing very small yields. However, such soil saturates wine fresh notes of minerality. Age of vines is 60-80 years. The grapes are harvested by hand during the advanced stage of maturity. Maturation takes place in new oak barrels and lasts 12-14 months.
