Tasting Notes
It has a rich red color.
Sagana 2006 - sredneteloe wine in a thin and elegant bouquet of which are felt notes of blackberry, black currant and raspberry, a slight tinge of spice and soft tannins. Long pleasant aftertaste.
In the fresh scent of floral tones mixed with notes of berries and dried fruits.
Best suited to dishes of meat, game and poultry. Also encouraged to apply to the paella, risotto, as a perfect snack cheese and cold cuts.
Interesting Facts
The owners of the company Cusumano - Alberto and Diego, with deep knowledge of the territory of Sicily, is under their vineyards precisely those areas where the different grape varieties can reach their full potential. In particular Sagana is made of only one type - Nero d'Avola, which gives the wine a wonderful deep flavor. Fermentation and aging Sagana is made within 12 months in oak barrels. Drinking wine can be directly, but it has a long storage potential.
Producer's description
The Cusumano company was founded in 2001 by brothers Alberto and Diego Cusumano, representing the third generation of the family of winemakers. The company is constantly expanding, acquiring new vineyards. Today, the total area of the Cusumano estates is 300 hectares. These are beautiful vineyards located in Sicily at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level. In 2003, in Partinico, the company converted a 19th century building, which today produces and stores excellent wines made not only from local but also imported grape varieties. The diversity of microclimates and soils throughout the sunny island allows winemakers to create sensual wines with a rich taste that could have been born in Sicily. Thanks to their deep knowledge of the characteristics of the Sicilian territory, the Cusumano brothers find for their vineyards exactly those areas where different varieties can fully reveal their potential.
