Reviews of purchase Rupert & Rothschild Classique 2008
Wine of deep ruby color.
Well balanced, fresh taste of wine is marked by smooth, silky tannins, blackberry notes, nuances of truffles and tea leaves. The elegant aftertaste appear lighter earth tones.
Elegant aroma of the wine is saturated tones of wild blackberry, vanilla and dark chocolate.
The wine goes well with beef, crispy fried duck with mushrooms, roast lamb with olive oil and rosemary cake with chocolate mousse, mushroom risotto, carpaccio and mature cheeses.
Rupert & Rothschild Classique is a perfect analogue of the famous red wines of Bordeaux. It was created by a classic recipe of traditional grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grown in Origin Western Cape. Cabernet Sauvignon gives the wine structure and fullness, and Merlot softens its tannins at the same time giving a bouquet of great complexity. The average age of the vines ranges from 8 to 20 years. The average yield of 1.3 kg per vine. The harvest in 2008 was about mid-February to late March. Primary fermentation lasted from 25 to 28 days and was carried out in 10,000 liter stainless steel tanks in contact with the skins of grapes, making wine has an intense color and a rich palette of flavors. Malolactic fermentation occurs first in stainless steel tanks and then in French oak barrels. After blending, the wine for 16 months aged in the same 225-liter oak barrels, making a bouquet optional light tones of spices and a soft, rounded taste. Rupert & Rothschild Classique 2008 will be to improve the noble taste and aroma palette until 2015.
