Producer's description
Foucher Lebrun is a small merchant enterprise specializing in the production of wines from the Loire Valley. The company's mission is to accurately reflect the unique features of the terroir through careful selection, vinification and aging of wines. The farm was founded by cooper Paul Lebrun in 1921. In addition to producing oak barrels, Paul Lebrun decided to supply the Loire and Paris restaurants with good wines from the Loire Valley. In the early 1950s, his son-in-law Raymond Foucher took the place of Paul Lebrun at the head of the company, who in turn handed over the matter to his son Jackie Foucher. Since 2009 they have been producing Loire wines with an organic certificate. At the end of 2009, in order to raise the image of the company and develop foreign business, the Foucher family attracted Jean Mounard as a new partner. Jean spent many years in the brokerage business, specializing in the sale of rare wines in Paris and collaborating with such iconic estates as DRC, Mouton-Rothchild and Leflaive. His first task at the Foucher Lebrun farm was the production of small batches of wine from grapes from selected sites in Sancerre, Puy-Fuyum and Saumur-Champigny, some of which are now exclusively applied with organic farming methods. Given the vast experience in tasting great wines from around the world, as well as numerous contacts with leading Loire producers, Jean was able to establish strong relationships with manufacturers and significantly improve the quality of wines produced under the name Foucher Lebrun. Currently, oenologist Mark Wappero has succeeded Jean, who still controls all export activities. Foucher Lebrun offers wines with a truly remarkable price-quality ratio and a flavor palette found in much more expensive wines.
