Wine Rocca di Castagnoli Buriano IGT 2000 is made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes harvested in the vineyard Buriano. Maceration is performed at a controlled temperature of 28 ° C for 10-12 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, which extends exposure for 15 months in French oak barrels. After filtration, the wine is bottled and allowed to stand still for 12 months.
The first mention of Rocca di Castagnoli estate belong to the Etruscan period, three centuries later, in 1203 it became part of the Florentine territory Lega del Chianti in the municipality of Gaiole. After the Aragonese war in 1478-1479 years the estate becomes part of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, in series becomes the property of the families Orlandi, Piccolomini, Tempi and Ricasoli, who tenderly care for the old vines, engaged in the production of wine and olive oil. Today, the area of the estate of 850 hectares, of which 100 hectares given over to vineyards (mostly Sangiovese) and 15 ha of olive groves.
