Tasting Notes
The wine is characterized by an intense ruby color.
On the palate the wine is dominated by shades of ripe black fruit (blackberries and blueberries) are very harmoniously combined with nuances of dried flowers, pepper, cocoa and vanilla. The wine has a soft tannin structure.
Aromatic bouquet of wine is elegant and quite complex.
Experts recommend drink wine paired with hot and cold white and red meat, as well as with moderately sharp cheeses.
Interesting Facts
"Podalirio", 2011 - Italian dry red wine, which is used for the production of Merlot grapes. The wine received its name in honor of the small pale yellow butterfly with black stripes on the wings. For the first time this wine was published in 1999. Annually produces about 6,000 bottles of "Podalirius." Harvest to create "Podalirio" usually harvested in September. Fermentation takes place in special steel tanks at a temperature 28˚S for 22 days. Extract of wine in 225-liter French oak barrels takes 18 months. Bottling of the vintage 2011 the August 1, 2013.
