Producer's description
The family began to create wines in 1902, when Italian immigrants Angelo Pulenta and Palma Spinsati arrived in Argentina. They began to work in the vineyards and wineries as contractors. In 1914, they bought 12 acres of land and established his first winery, which was called "Penaflor" ("Peñaflor"). Angela and Palm had 9 children, with whom they have worked tirelessly to bring your plant to a higher level.
Today, in the possession of the vineyard Pulenta includes two, one of which is located in the Alto Agrela, and the other - in the valley of Uco. Vineyard in Alto Agrela is located at an altitude of 1,000 meters above sea level and covers 335 acres. Grapes from this site - pretty high quality and used to create a line of wines "Grand Prix". Wines from it are less concentrated, but more elegant, soft and subtle. Vineyard in Uco, which bears the name "Don Antonio", occupies 992 acres of land at an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level.
According to the chief winemaker of the company - Javier Lo Forte, climate plays the most important role in the formation and maturation of high-quality crop. Vines get a lot of sunlight, rainfall is low enough, the soil is rather poor, which provides a high concentration of natural grape fruitiness, sweetness and acidity. However, Javier and his team are working hard to protect the grapes from excessive amounts of sunlight, otherwise it will lose its perezreet and natural acidity.
