Reviews of purchase Pugnitello, Toscana IGT, 2011
Wine deep dark cherry color.
The wine has a full-bodied, muscular and rich flavor with a velvety texture and a long sweet finish.
Amazing aroma of the wine is filled with tones of ripe black fruit, notes of wild flowers, sage, rosemary and tobacco.
Wine is recommended to apply to a variety of complex meat dishes, especially venison and beef with sweet sauce, as well as aged cheeses.
Wine Pugnitello is the result of painstaking work by winegrowers San Felice to restore ancient antique Tuscan grapes. Sort Punitello was restored just a pair of surviving vines. Name of the variety comes from the word "pugno", which translated from Italian means "fist". Small, dense clusters Punitello really like his fist. Grapes are grown in several separate areas located at an altitude of 380-400 meters above sea level and with south-east and south-west exposure. The soils are composed of marl, limestone and sandstone. After fermentation and malolactic fermentation the wine for 18-20 months aged in oak barriques. Lovely wine storage capacity is 20 years.
History of San Felice rises to the X century, according to documents found at this time there was the arrival of San Felice, dedicated to the martyr San Felice da Nola. The temple and the farm is next, experiencing all the historical vicissitudes. Together, they were subjected to various types of control - both religious and control by powerful families. It was only at the beginning of the XX century family Del Taya took control of territory and turned the farm into a successful enterprise. The prestige of this family confirms the fact that they were among the founders of the famous Consortium Chianti Classico (their famous logo with a black rooster).
Time after the Second World War was for San Felice decadent, as well as for the entire region of Chianti. But in 1968 fortune turned in the direction of the company, it becomes the largest financial groups.
