Wine "Pom'N'Roll", Pomerol AOC, 2014
Reviews of purchase "Pom'N'Roll", Pomerol AOC, 2014
Wine is red and pomegranate.
The taste of the wine is juicy, greedy, dense, sweet, with an elastic creamy texture, incendiary shades of red fruit, oak notes, nuances of sweet spices and fresh aftertaste.
The aroma of wine is revealed by intense notes of red fruits and berries, such as strawberries, raspberries and Morello cherry.
The wine is perfectly combined with dishes from red meat, grilled meat, tapas, cheese.
"Pom'N'Roll" is a new masterpiece of the Laval family, authored by Claire Laval's son Olivier Tescher. This atypical wine for Pomrol wins abundant, juicy notes of red fruits, for which he was even called the real "fruit bomb", as well as a soft texture and significant but neat influence of woody hues. Wine is produced without the use of sulphites from grapes grown on strict biodynamic and organic principles. The wine storage capacity is 6-8 years. An hour before use, decantation is recommended.
The company Famille Laval has already six generations of winemakers. The main asset of the winemaking family is Chateau Gombod Guyot , which Marie Bellevier, the great-grandmother of the current owner, Claire Laval, received as a wedding gift from her father, a famous local winemaker. The development of the Château and its beautiful vineyards is connected with Claire Laval, who received a degree in agricultural engineering, first moved away from the family cradle and became interested in animal husbandry, but in 1983 she returned to Chateau with her husband and two children. A fascinating but difficult work in the Château required Claire Laval to learn, accumulate experience and develop her own methods. In 1988, after 5 years of monitoring the vineyards, she made a sharp turn, completely abandoning the chemical interference in the beautiful terroir Pomerol and switching to organic farming. Since 1999, the Château has been certified organic farming. In 1996, in addition to the 7 hectares of Château Gombod Guyot, the Clos Plince vineyard was acquired with an area of 1 hectare. In 2010, Claire was joined by a son - Olivier Tescher, who already produces wine as an oenologist.
Classical Laval wines are the classic reflection of Pomrol: rich and elastic, with a deep mineral structure and mature fruity. Robert Parker Jr. wrote that "when Chateau Gombod Guyot does everything right, it is considered one of the top ten names of Pomrol . "
