Interesting Facts
"Po de Poeira" Branco - "child" enologist Jorge Moeyra, lovingly made from grapes grown in the Douro region. As he said himself, Jorge, "we tried to make a wine with a unique character, expressive aroma, depth and freshness." Background of wine making begins with the time when Jorge in 2004 set the stage for the landing of vines and found different from the rest of the land. The soil on it was less rocky, more fertile, with great potential moisture. This site was to be used for planting varieties of Albariño and Gouveia. The result met all expectations, giving the world a wonderful dry white wine "By de Poeyra" rightly called "one of the most esteemed wines of the Douro."
Producer's description
Jorge Moreira - a young but very talented oenologist, at the time of labor in the well-known Portuguese company Companhia Velha, and since 2002 he worked as chief oenologist at Quinta de la Rosa. In 2001 he started his own project Quinta do Poeira. The farm is located in Provesende, on the right bank of the river Pina, and has 9 hectares of vineyards, 2 hectares of olive gardens and 3 hectares of forest. The basis for the winery was the old dilapidated building, which has been carefully restored. Jorge produces wine in a minimalist style - four traditional stone vats used for the extraction of the old vertical press, and the shutter speed takes place in a thick-walled cellar shale. The whole process of wine passes slowly and gently in order to preserve the taste of terroir expression.
"Po de Poeira" - is a balanced and elegant wines, the creation of which Moreira emphasizes harmonious acidity and drinkability. And still tends to make the wine so that it "convey the character of the vines, but at the same time reflect the changes occurring in the vineyard of the year."
