Agriculture Col d'Orcia is situated on the hill of Montalcino in Siena, Tuscany. These lands have a rich history of winemaking, which dates back to the beginning of the XVIII century. Since 1973, the Col d'Orcia belongs to the family of Cinzano. The current president of Cinzano - Count Francesco Cinzano Maron - controls production via the famous enologist Pablo Harry and consultant Maurizio Castelli. Col d'Orcia covers 540 hectares, of which 142 hectares are vines. Col d'Orcia not only produces fine wines, but also constantly involved in research whose primary purpose is to optimize the quality of the grapes. Together with the University of Florence and Professor Attilio Sienese from the University of Milan, they learn planting, clonal selection and communication vines with the perfect terroir. The result was the discovery and development of such famous wines as Brunello di Montalcino, Moscadello di Montalcino, Sant'Antimo and the Chianti.
