Bodegas Covila is a micro-cooperative founded in 1989 in the province of Lapuyebla de Labarca, which is located in the heart of the wine region of Rioja Alavesa. The territory of the vineyards on the south side is surrounded by the Ebro River, and on the north by the mountains of the Sierra Cantabria. The total area of the vineyards is 250 hectares, the average age of the vines is more than 25 years. The continental climate of this region with severe winter and hot summer is characterized by rather scanty precipitation throughout the year. Such climatic conditions make it possible to produce fresh, fruit, well-structured wines with deep color, balanced acidity and sweet tannins. Bodegas Kovila has state-of-the-art technologies that guarantee high quality control. The production halls are equipped with stainless steel tanks with controlled temperature and a total capacity of 3 million liters.
