Tasting Notes
The wine has a rich pomegranate color with a purple tint.
The balanced taste of wine is characterized by rounded tannins, mature acidity, notes of nuts and flowers, fruit tones and a persistent, elegant aftertaste.
The aroma of wine is very open. It combines the tone of coffee, smoked products, liquorice and warm notes of wood.
The wine is in good harmony with the dishes of red meat, hot, pork and ripe cheeses.
Interesting Facts
"Tinto Nogal", 2011 - rich red wine from one of the most prestigious wineries of Ribera del Duero - Pago de los Capellanes. Wine is produced only in exceptional years and comes from a terroir characterized by "great" wines. In the vineyard "El Nogal" with an area of 6 hectares an exceptional grapes of the Tinto Fino variety is born, which in the microclimate of this area reaches a high concentration of aroma, color and noble tannins. Vinification in conical vats of French oak with a carefully controlled temperature regime, varying depending on the fermentation phase, and aged wine for 18 months in new French oak barrels allow to preserve the excellent varietal characteristics of the grapes and to strengthen the structure. After aging wine is bottled without cleaning and filtration. For a couple of hours before serving on the table, "Tinto Nogal" is recommended to uncork and express.
Producer's description
In the last century was founded the winery Pago de los Capellanes as a small economy, producing wines from local grapes. In 1980, the winery has expanded the boundaries of their lands, the area of which currently stands at 100 hectares. Of these, 80% are given under Tempranillo, 10% - a Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% - a Merlot. It Tempranillo allowed the full potential of the wine and the best adapted to the local climate, soil conditions.
For Pago de los Capellanes process of wine production - currently a mystery. The main production area, where the wine ferments and ages, has a ceiling height of about 10 meters. Kept wine in oak barrels, which are used for the production of 22 species of oak, and basements facilities used to store wine, bottled, so that it has reached an optimal state.
