Interesting Facts
"Pa Road" Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is an unusually bright and rich wine made from grapes grown in the unique terroir of the New Zealand region of Marlborough. Sauvignon Blanc is collected from two vineyards for creating wine - MacDonald Home (Wairau Bar region) and the low-yielding vineyard Redwood Hills (Avatere Valley). Harvesting is carried out in a machine way when the berries reach the optimum ripeness. At the winery, the fruits are subjected to vinification, passing in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature.
Producer's description
The history of the te Pa Family Vineyards family winery dates back to the 1350s. It was then that at the mouth of the Wairau River a settlement of people was founded, which is the descendants of Hayley MacDonald - the current owner of the farm. Haley's descendants lived on these lands for centuries, but only in the 20th century they began to cultivate the land (grow potatoes) and raise livestock.
Heysley traveled around the USA for a long time, got acquainted with the world and discovered new interesting opportunities. After returning to his native land, he, at the request of his father, was to continue to engage in family farming business. But Haysley decides to do wine and in 2003 planted the first vines on his lands. In 2011, the brand "te Pa" appears, which immediately receives the recognition of wine critics.
Vineyards covering an area of about 400 hectares are located in the unique microclimate of the Marlborough region, between the mighty Wairau River and the azure waters of the Cook Strait. This arrangement provides a continuous flow of air throughout the growing season, which significantly reduces the risk of diseases and compensates for heat spikes in mid-summer. Soils under vineyards range from rich, fertile loams to sandy and silty. Due to the uniqueness of the microclimate, wines produced from local grapes have a mild acidity, spicy aroma and mature taste characteristics.
Among the wide range of wines of the company you can always find a drink to your liking and at a cost.
