Reviews of purchase Morgenster, "Tosca", 2013
The wine is ruby red in color with purple reflections.
The taste of the wine is round, balanced, with silky tannins, fruity tones and a long aftertaste.
The elegant aroma of the wine reveals hints of cherry, plum, spices and dried flowers.
The wine goes well with rich dishes, as well as with chicken, salads and meat delicacies.
Dry red wine Morgenster, "Tosca" is made from a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The berries grow in the company's vineyards in the Stellenbosch region. At the end of the harvest, the fruits are pressed, followed by fermentation in steel tanks with strict temperature control. The wine goes well with rich dishes, as well as with chicken, salads and meat delicacies.
Situated at the foot of Mount Helderberg in Somerset West, Morgenster Estate has a rich history spanning over 300 years. In 1992, Giulio Bertrand purchased the farm and set about restoring it. First, he began to restore the estate, built in 1786, and then turned his attention to the hill in the backyard, which reminded him of his home in Italy. Giulio's main idea was the production of wines with an Italian character and a highlight of South Africa.
Sadly, Giulio Bertrand passed away in 2018. His daughters, Federica and Alessandra, continued the family business. In addition to wine production, Morgenster produces olive oil, olive paste and canned olives.
