The name of the new wine - "Core" - translated from Italian means "core", and the local dialect of Campania it means "heart" and pronounced "Koran". Not only the name but also the conception of the wine bottle is subordinated to the main goal of the founders: to produce wine, represents life. Wine "Quran" is produced from Aglianico grapes grown on an area of 35 hectares with a clay-calcareous soils. The mineral composition of the ground, the height of 400 meters above sea level, south-eastern exposure of the vineyard - all this gives the wine a special, rich tones of red berries, earth and leather-aromatic bouquet of flavors. Vines are mature enough, they were planted in 1997. Crop matures in September or October, depending on weather. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted. Vinification of the skin occurs on the classical technology and takes 28 days. First, the wine is placed into the steel container for alcoholic fermentation for 15 days at a temperature of 18 ° C. Then the wort is subjected to maceration and malolactic fermentation. Extract of wine for 22 months in new passes French oak barrels of 225 liters in volume. After bottling the wine is "resting" in bottles for 4 months. Storage capacity of the vintage of 2012 - to 2025.
Monteverano economy emerged as a result of a bold experiment, a group of friends united by a love of wine, which began with the legendary Bordeaux wines of the time. Basis for the creation of the winery has become an old farm, once owned by the Bourbons and redeemed in the 40s. Here produce fruits, nuts, wine, and oil exclusively for the needs of the family. In 1985, about two hectares of land has been allocated for planting grape varieties Taurasi Aglianico, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. In 1991 were released first bottle of wine produced from the Cabernet Sauvignon (70%) and Aglianico (30%). They are intended only for a narrow circle of friends. Then old friends Silvia Imparato and Ricardo Kotarella standing at the head of the company, as a result of experiments have found the perfect formula blend: Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (30%) and Aglianico Taurasi (10%). Montevetrano today - it's a small but firmly standing on their feet the company producing its limited edition wine (per year produced a total of 30 000 bottles) and export it worldwide.
