Extremely elegant and fresh wine "Montevetrano" is a unique blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Aglianico Taurasi. The harvest began in mid-September. Winter 2001 was extremely cold. This affected the decrease in the number of grapes. Fermentation takes place under strict control. At the initial stage the continuous 20-day maceration of the skin, and then - fermentation for 21 days with regular pressing wort. After that, the wine is placed in a 225-liter French oak barriques where it is aged for 10-12 months, which gives the wine a special finesse and a balanced maturity. After aging in casks further incubated beverage bottles nemenee 6 months. Storage capacity and development of the wine in the bottle is 10-15 years.
Monteverano economy emerged as a result of a bold experiment, a group of friends united by a love of wine, which began with the legendary Bordeaux wines of the time. Basis for the creation of the winery has become an old farm, once owned by the Bourbons and redeemed in the 40s. Here produce fruits, nuts, wine, and oil exclusively for the needs of the family. In 1985, about two hectares of land has been allocated for planting grape varieties Taurasi Aglianico, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. In 1991 were released first bottle of wine produced from the Cabernet Sauvignon (70%) and Aglianico (30%). They are intended only for a narrow circle of friends. Montevetrano today - it's a small but firmly standing on their feet the company producing its limited edition wine (per year produced a total of 30 000 bottles) and export it worldwide.
