Reviews of purchase "Mauro", 2015
Wine dense cherry color with purple trim around the edge of the glass.
Elegant, sensual taste of the wine reveals intense and powerful fruit tones accompanied by ripe tannins. Pleasant acidity gives the wine a wonderful freshness.
Distinct aroma of red fruit notes complement menthol, licorice, smoke and spice.
Recommended to decant the wine an hour before use. "Mauro" will be a great addition to most meat dishes, especially good it is combined with a rabbit with garlic, roast pork or lamb, game, grilled tuna, as well as with mature cheeses and mushroom risotto. Wine will be a decent pair of baked white meat and grilled red meats and sausages.
Elegant wine "Mauro", is an attractive, rich aroma and complex, perfectly balanced, juicy taste, created from the Spanish Tempranillo with the addition of Syrah. Grapes grown on light limestone and clay-limestone soils in an area that is prone to sudden changes in temperature in the daytime and nighttime periods. Winter 2011 was rather dry. Spring from March to May was the warmest in the last few years, the budding period took place in the absence of frost. The wine was bottled in June 2013, the potential for wine storage - until 2021.
Bodegas Mauro is located in the valley of the River Douro in Tudela, in the ancient house of the XVII century. Bodegas was created in 1978 by the architect Luciano Suarez, specializing in the restoration of medieval monuments (he restored the building of the winery), and winemaker Felix Choque to create small batches of high quality red wines that have great potential and are capable of storing at the expense of its quality to compete with the best wines of Spain.
Mauro vineyards cover 30 acres, which are cultivated varieties of Tempranillo (90%), Grenache (5%) and Syrah (5%). The vines are older - 60 years and older - give a small crop of exceptional quality. The production and aging of wines at Bodegas Mauro adhere to the classical French style. Mauro Wines are smooth, silky texture and rich nuances that enables them to compete not only with local, but also with many great wines of Bordeaux. Every year it produces only about 90,000 bottles. Demand for wine Mauro is so great that every vintage is usually sold out within 3 months after graduation.
