Reviews of purchase Mauro, 2010
The wine is dark cherry color with purple trim around the edge of the glass.
After decanting the wine for an hour revealed energetic, sophisticated, slightly astringent taste with plenty of bright shades of red fruits. A perfect balance of rounded tannins and a pleasant acidity gives the wine a delicious freshen. Surprisingly long finish marked nuances of smoke and juicy fruit.
In the intense aroma of red fruit notes harmoniously intertwined smoke, pepper, licorice, toffee and menthol.
Wine blends wonderfully with most meat dishes, especially good it is combined with roast pork or lamb, rabbit with garlic, game, grilled tuna, as well as with mature cheeses and rice with mushrooms. Mauro will be a decent pair of baked white meat and grilled red meats and sausages.
Elegant wine "Mauro", 2010, is an attractive, rich aroma and complex, perfectly balanced, juicy taste, created from the Spanish Tempranillo with the addition of Syrah. Grapes grown on light limestone and clay-limestone soils in an area that is prone to sudden changes in temperature in the daytime and nighttime periods. In 2010, the grape harvest began on September 21 and lasted until October 8. Due to spring frosts yield was significantly lower than in the previous year. In the manufacture of wine Mauro berries completely separated from the ridges. For 2-3 weeks in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks produced alcoholic fermentation and maceration of the mash. Then drink 16 months aged in barrels of various ages from wood of American and French oak. The wine was bottled in June 2012, the potential for wine storage - up to 2020.
Bodegas Mauro is located in the valley of the River Douro in Tudela, in the ancient house of the XVII century. Bodegas was created in 1978 by the architect Luciano Suarez, specializing in the restoration of medieval monuments (he restored the building of the winery), and winemaker Felix Choque to create small batches of high quality red wines that have great potential and are capable of storing at the expense of its quality to compete with the best wines of Spain.
Mauro vineyards cover 30 acres, which are cultivated varieties of Tempranillo (90%), Grenache (5%) and Syrah (5%). The vines are older - 60 years and older - give a small crop of exceptional quality. The production and aging of wines at Bodegas Mauro adhere to the classical French style. Mauro Wines are smooth, silky texture and rich nuances that enables them to compete not only with local, but also with many great wines of Bordeaux. Every year it produces only about 90,000 bottles. Demand for wine Mauro is so great that every vintage is usually sold out within 3 months after graduation.
