Red wine "Clos Martinet" is a classic representative of the "new wave" of the Priory. The wine is made from a blend of several grape varieties: Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Karin, which were collected from the best vineyards farm located on a unique soil "llicorella". Soil contains alternating layers of shale and quartz, which are found in the homeland of the best ports in the top and in the Duero Ribera del Duero. The average age of the vines, which are collected from Karin and Garnacha, is over 60 years old. Excerpt wine lasts 18 months in new French barrels average degree of roasting. "Clos Martinet" has the potential to store at least 20 years of age.
Small winery Mas Martinet based Jose Luis Perez - pioneer Priory along with Alvaro Palacios, Rene Barbier and Carles Pastrana, who in 1989 together created their first wine. Vineyards with a total area of 7 hectares located around the winery on the banks of the river Siurana, between settlements and Gratallops Falset. The rest of the farm vineyards 3 hectares are scattered around the area Priorat DOQ, including old vineyards near the town of Porrera planted with varieties Karin and Garnacha, and the new site, located high above Gratallops. Today, the main face of the winery is Sara Perez, daughter of Jose Luis Perez, who is ranked among the best oenologist in Spain. All wines are organic farms.
