Producer's description
Luminarc - one of the most famous companies in the world, producing high-quality dishes, while having a very democratic price.
History Luminarc began in the XIX century. In 1823 in a small French village opened a tiny glass-blowing workshop. Her master Charles Carpentier quite successfully conducted their affairs. After some time, he learned of the existence of a similar workshop in the village of Arc, owned by Alexander de Lyon de Nuarkarm. Probably, both the entrepreneur knew a lot about not only in the glass-blowing business, but also in the more subtle issues, namely commercial, therefore, in 1826 happened as we would say today, the merger of the two workshops. Until the 90s the new firm was manufacturing braided bottle with a narrow neck with a capacity of 20-50 liters for wine, oil, vinegar. In 1892, the company was sold and renamed "Cristallerie d 'Arques". Already since 1897 the new Managing Director of George Durand made the main focus of the production of the manufacture of utensils. In 1916, he successfully acquires the company's shares and becomes its rightful owner.
By the end of 20-ies of XX century the company was working, like many other similar businesses, not distinguished by anything from them. But Georges Durand succeeded by his son, Jacques, and it became a fateful decision, because that's what Jacques was the creator of this famous brand. In the fifties, the range of products has grown. The main attention was paid to design work in the production of tea and dinner services Luminarc, it then began to produce sumptuous glasses and opal glass goblets, which production technology was quite difficult in those years. Jacques Durand is not easily brought the company a leader, he led her up to the 90s, is now headed Lyuminark worth Philippe Durand, his son.
