Producer's description
Le Domaine d'Henri is a new project of the recognized French winemaker Michel Laroche, which is being developed with him by his two daughters (Margot and Cecile). The history of the winery began with a 2012 vintage, named after Michel's father, Henri. A small but actively developing wine estate was named after him. For the founder, Michel Laroche, it is more of a hobby, an outlet and a tribute to the memory of his great family, which has raised more than one generation of winemakers. Michel's daughters are representatives of the sixth "tribe" of Laroche. Actually, it was on the children that Michel put all his hopes and most of the responsibilities with which they cope with dignity. The dominant grape in Laroche winemaking is Chardonnay, which is rightfully considered the pearl of Chablis. The domain is gradually being rebuilt to work according to the principles of organic viticulture, and the goal of the enterprise is to demonstrate the superiority and characteristics of each terroir. Especially noteworthy are the 80-year-old vines in the Premier Cru Fourchaume vineyards, where grapes for the Heritage cuvée are grown.
Michelle loves the tangible acidity in her wines and strives to preserve it by malolactic fermentation of only 85% of the wine. The wine is aged for 9 months on the lees, which enriches its texture. Domaine d'Anri wines have good concentration and exquisite minerality.
