Reviews of purchase Lapostolle, "Cuvee Alexandre" Cabernet Sauvignon, 2017
The wine is dark red with violet hue.
The wine has a rich, concentrated and rounded taste with a wide tannic structure and excellent balance, with a long fruity finish.
Thick aroma of the wine is full of shades of red and black fruit, plums, dried tea leaves and tobacco, elegant and subtle notes of sweet spices.
Wine is the perfect match for meat dishes, as well as for complex gourmet dishes.
"Cuvee Alexandre" Cabernet Sauvignon - rich, concentrated and rounded wine that comes from the harvest with the old block of Cabernet, planted in 1920. This site has a special terroir: special soil, special geographical conditions and high density planting vines. The best way to express the terroir "Cuvee Alexandre" from Apalta, winemakers farms adhere to the philosophy of natural vinification with minimal interference. Its key elements are hand-picking, strict selection of berries, soft methods of fermentation and the rational use of oak barrels with aging in order to preserve the characteristics of fruit in the taste of wine and integrated into the flavor complexity. Before bottling the wine goes very light filtering.
In 2012, the weather conditions were excellent for growing Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in Apalta. No precipitation was during the harvest season. Due to the difference between day and night temperatures, grapes retained its natural acidity. Also, high temperatures during the summer and autumn led to early ripening and harvesting 3 weeks earlier than usual.
Winery Casa Lapostolle, founded relatively recently - in 1994 - and has already gained recognition wine connoisseurs in many countries, belongs to the family members of French winemakers Marnier-Lapostol - Alexandra Marnier-Lapostol and her husband Cyril de Burne. It is they who, having been in Chile, found old vines Carmenere and Merlot in Apalta Valley and appreciating their great potential, became the founders of the Chilean project.
Starting a business from a small vineyard "Clos Apalta", today expanded its family ownership to 370 hectares, which are grown Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Carmenere, Pinot Noir and Syrah even. Great contribution to the development of the production and maintenance of the status of the winery made famous French oenologist Michel Rolland, exclusively advises only in Chile Casa Lapostolle.
