Reviews of purchase "Lambda", Toscana IGT
Wine of deep ruby color.
The taste of wine is wide, elegant and strong, with a velvety texture, tones of black currant and spices, smooth tannins and a relaxing aftertaste.
Impressively multifaceted aroma of the wine is filled with tones of ripe black fruit and berries, smoke, tar, licorice and herbs.
The wine goes well with curry, baked on slow fire with lamb meat, beef tajin or braised deer meat.
"Lambda" - a great wine, showing a magnificent synthesis of strength, elegance and aroma. Wine made from grapes of five varieties grown in Tuscany. The vineyard is facing the sea, its soil consisting of clay and chalk contains a large amount of petrified shell rock. All work in the vineyard is carried out with the help of horses, biodynamic and permacultural methods are used for growing vines. After a spontaneous, completely natural fermentation without temperature control, the wine is aged 12 months in oak barrels. Before bottling the wine is not clarified, not filtered and does not stabilize. Mature, velvety, exquisite wine "Lambda" should be viewed in perspective. Over the years, it becomes truly perfect. Wine storage capacity is at least 7 years.
The history of the winery Fattoria Kappa began in 1999, when two friends - Austrian, editor-in-chief of the Format magazine Stephan Klasmann and German professional journalist and photographer Manfred Klemek - discussed the dubious quality of expensive Italian wines on holiday in Lignano. It was then that they decided that creating quality but affordable wine in Tuscany is an idea worth exploring. Fortunately, just a few months later, they had the opportunity to realize their idea when a friend offered them a rental Tuscan vineyard. Friends recruited a young winemaker Andrea di Mayo, who had worked as a consultant for wineries in Tuscany and Friuli for a long time.
First, Fattoria Kappa made wines from purchased grapes, then from a rented vineyard in the vicinity of the winery in Castellina Marittima, and with time from her own plot of 4 hectares near Volterra. All work in the vineyard follow the rules of biodynamics.
The young history of Fattoria Kappa develops according to the following scenario - in the conditions of market reality, to make high-quality wine not for yourself and your friends, but for true connoisseurs of good Italian wines. Each wine must have a phenomenal value and follow what the terroir is able to give in line with the traditions.
