"La Sassaia" Toscana Rosso IGT is a red dry wine made from grape varieties Sangiovese and Merlot. Grapes are grown on clay-limestone and gravel soils in the Tuscany region. Sangiovese gives wine a good acidity and high tannins, beautiful saturated red and ruby color. To smooth out sharp corners, winemakers add to the wine an insignificant part of the Merlot variety, which gives the wine velvety and roundness. Harvest is collected quite late, the berries are carefully delivered to the winery, where they are pressed and fermented at controlled temperature and aged in oak barrels. The potential of wine is 2-3 years.
The winery "La Sassaia" is part of the Bonacchi company.
