The name of the wine Kronenwein, "Liebfraumilch" is translated as "Milk of the beloved woman" or, as it is also called, "Milk of the Madonna". According to legend, this wine was first prepared by the nuns of the Virgin Mary Monastery in Worms. The first official mention of the Liebfraumilch can be found in the monastery documents at the end of the 18th century, but according to another version, Emperor Friedrich Barbarossa was treated with this wine in the 12th century.
