Interesting Facts
Like many plants, Knockando arose during the whiskey boom in Scotland at the end of the XIX century, in 1898. Knockando translated from Gaelic means "little black hill." The plant produces beautiful malt, which is used by many manufacturers of whiskey. for example - "J & B", "Spey Royal". In 1969, the plant increased the number of distillation cubes from two to four, thus producing a greater volume of single malt whiskey of the highest quality. Knockando draws its water from Cardnach Spring, which is described as a very good source of crystal clear mountain water. The amount of peat, as well as the proportion of sherry-barrels are carefully controlled to avoid their dominance in the taste of whiskey. Color "Nokendu" completely natural, without dyes derived solely from the casks in which he matured. For this reason, the color depth may vary in bottles. Barrels are made without nails or glue. Whiskey, which produces Nokendu has classic elegance and complexity of Speyside malts best, unique delicacy combined with fruity character.
