"Koor" Red - red dry wine made from traditional grape varieties of the autochthonous Armenian - Areni and Lilac. Grapes grown in Vayots Dzor region, on the basis of a unique, combining volcanic sedimentary rocks and limestone. Headship blended grade Areni wine confers elegance, finesse and fruitiness. Areni is well balanced with a tannic grape varieties Lilac, which gives the wine a firm structure.
wine name is a tribute to the Armenian river and wine trading skills. On the wine label depicts a scene from the book of the Greek historian Herodotus "History" (Chapter 194). It illustrates how the Armenian merchants traveled from Armenia to Babylon on the Euphrates River in boats made of wood and animal skins, with barrels of palm tree filled with wine. These boats were called "chickens" (or "koor").
Winery Highland Cellars was founded by a group of friends - people from Armenia, who were conquered by the beauty and scenery of Mount Ararat at its foot.
