Interesting Facts
"Heinz Eifel" Gewurztraminer, Rheinhessen QbA - a bright, fragrant white semi-sweet wine made from selected Gewurztraminer grapes grown in cool areas of the Rheinhessen region. The climate contributes to a better manifestation of the varietal characteristics of the Gewurztraminer, a brighter aroma with a predominance of lychee notes and a slow accumulation of natural sugar. After harvesting the grapes are completely passed through the press, followed by decantation of the must for 12 hours. Next, the process of slow fermentation starts at a controlled temperature, which stops until all sugar is converted to alcohol. The wine is aged on the lees in stainless steel tanks, filtered and bottled.
Under the brand name " Heinz Eifel" high-level wines are produced, a symbiosis of science and art, embodied by the efforts of experienced winemakers. Due to the small volume of production, each stage is under the close supervision of the owner of the Heinz Eifel winery - from growing vines to bottling. Since 2001, the daughter of Heinz, Anna, joined the company as a winemaker, having received an education in oenology at the University of Geisenheim. Impressed by the character and quality of the wines produced by Anna, the family decided to produce them under their own name.
Producer's description
Romerhof Weinhaus is a modern, innovative wine house located in the village of Trittenheim in the Moselle Valley. The company's mission is to carefully select the best German wines for subsequent sale in Germany and abroad, to satisfy a wide range of requests from wine lovers. Romerhof Weinhaus was founded in 1979 and was bought almost a decade later by Heinz Eifel, who comes from a family of hereditary winemakers. The main stimulus for the purchase was the desire to promote a wide range of products throughout Germany, not limited to Riesling wines from the top Moselle vineyards, but adding other wine regions of Germany and Europe as a whole to the portfolio. At the time of foundation, wines were exported only to the USA and were presented on the German market. As it developed, Romerhof Weinhaus entered the markets of other European countries, South America, Scandinavia and Asia.
