Interesting Facts
"Dombeya" Fenix is a red dry wine made from a blend of three varieties of grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec, collected in the early morning hours. Earlier this wine was issued under the name "Altus", but since 2009 it was renamed into "Phoenix". The change of name did not affect the taste of the wine. It is still fragrant, with bright notes of fruits, black berries, soft tannins and light spiciness.
Harvesting is done manually, at the winery the berries are fermented at a controlled temperature of 12 ° C for 15 days. Malotactic fermentation is carried out in new barrels from French oak (40%) and in barrels of the second and third use. The wine lasts 12 months in oak barrels.

Producer's description
The Haskell Winery was founded in 2002, it is located in Stellenbosch, the oldest region of South African winemaking. Here are the most famous farms and the best South African wines are produced. That part of this region, where the Haskell vineyards are located, is known as the "Golden Triangle" of winemaking. The Haskell Winery is located on the slope of a mountain range near the largest city of South Africa - Cape Town. This area has a number of advantages that create ideal conditions for growing grapes: low temperatures, moderate fertility of vines, and the soil contains crushed granite. The whole set of advantages gives the Haskell farm a huge opportunity to produce top class wines, which the company successfully uses along with the latest technology. The estate's vineyards are located on 23 hectares and are designed to produce a small amount of wine of the highest quality.
