Wine "Harlan Estate", Napa Valley, 2012
Reviews of purchase "Harlan Estate", Napa Valley, 2012
The wine is dark purple.
Stunning, multifaceted, irresistible wine. The completeness and wonderfully formed tannic structure of taste give special tension to the deep layers of dark fruits. Exquisite complexity adds nuances of iron, tobacco, dried flowers, asphalt, leather and incense in the long aftertaste.
The fascinating aroma of wine is represented by shades of charcoal, graphite, camphor, Creme de Cassis liqueur, smoke from barbecue and mature blackberries.
Wine is so self-sufficient that it is suitable for meditation and self-consumption. Can accompany only delicate meat dishes of fine cuisine.
"Harlan Estate", Napa Valley, 2010 - fine wine of fabulous purity and filigree accuracy of execution, the main wine of the same name. It combines wealth and volume, energy and gentleness. When harvesting, only small boxes are used, and the grapes are sorted twice, and the second occurs after the separation of the crests. The wort is macerated and fermented in open containers, and then placed in new barrels of French oak, where the apple-milk fermentation begins. Here the wine is aged for 23-26 months, including sediment, and bottled without gluing and filtration.
Vintage 2010 has received excellent characteristics and will reach perfection over the next decade. The surprisingly mild and sensual taste of wine at a young age is distinguished by brightness and even riot. The storage potential reaches 30 years.
On the hills of Oakville, in the transition zone between the virgin forests and the open plain are Harlan Estate vineyards. On 17 hectares of scanty soils made up of volcanic and sedimentary rocks, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot were planted in a terraced manner. Thanks to the neighborhood with the wild nature, the wines produced here owe their unique character.
The farm Harlan Estate was founded in 1984 by Bill Harlan. He also has his own construction business and is the owner of the luxurious resort of Meadowood Resort in the Napa Valley. Approaching very thoroughly to a new direction in his work, he enlisted the support of real professionals in his business, whose names are known to everyone who is engaged in winemaking. This is the agronomist of David Ebrew and the oenologist Michel Rolland. The philosophy of Harlan Estate is to keep the wines as natural as possible. Here, we adhere to gentle methods for processing and fermenting grapes and are not burdensome for long periods of time. The first vintages caused admiration of famous wine critics and found their own fans.
