Winemaking traditions in the company Garcia Carrion originated several centuries ago. Karron family was the owner of vineyards in Jumilla and engaged in the production of wine, which is sold directly at the winery. In 1890 a new winery was built, much more of the former. The company's goal was to increase the export of wines from Jumilla to France, which was made possible thanks to the phylloxera epidemic that struck the French vineyards. Thus, 1890 is the year the company was founded.
Karron Garcia began working in the family business in 1968. To expand the market, it was decided to build another winery near Jumilla and equip it with powerful filling line. In the early 80s, with the advent of hypermarkets in Spain there was a need to reconsider the practice of packaging for wine. Instead of the bottle in the economy Karon Garcia began to use TetraPak technology, which led to a change in traditions. It was a very difficult time, when the company turned out to be alone in their endeavors and experienced distrust and pressure from other winemakers.
The company now owns vineyards in 10 different regions: Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Rueda, Jumilla, Alicante, Castilla La Mancha, Penedes, Catalonia and Cava. In terms of sales the company Garcia Karron is the largest in Spain.
The Garcia Carrion winery was founded in 1890. Then the great-grandfather of the current owner of the company - Jose García Carrion conceived to grow his first vineyard. He planned to produce wine for export to France. His wine quickly became popular, the number of vineyards increased every year. The Garcia Carrion winery is becoming one of the most famous Spanish wine producers and the fifth most popular wine brand in the world. In the 70s of the last century, the company aims to produce mass, but consistently high-quality products. Today Garcia Carrion is a huge concern that produces juices and wine. Its products are exported to more than 130 countries.
